There’s a lot of buzz in the valley about a new Aquarium that is under construction near the 101 and Via de Ventura.
The general manager of the OdySea aquarium is part of a whole 30-acre development. It’s about 200,000 square feet with more than 50 exhibits and they’ll be filling tanks with nearly two million gallons of water. More than 5,000 animals, representing over 300 different species, will all be on display at the aquarium, including fish, sharks, stingrays, seals and sea lions.
Right now all of the infrastructure is being built and the major exhibits have already been installed. All the exhibits are tested to make sure they securely hold the water.
One of the unique aspects of the facility is that when you go into the restroom to wash your hands you will be able to get a secret view into the shark exhibit. Instead of looking into a mirror, people will be looking at the sharks!
The facility is also expected to have a 3-D theater. The aquarium is expected to open in July.
